Styles for Dudes... What’s HOT in Guys Eyewear Fall 2014

By Eye Candy Steve

Since you clicked on the link, you really want to know... Eye Candy makes it easy and fast with these 5 easy tips.

Tip #1 – Different looks on different days

No single pair of glasses can truly cover all a guy’s needs.  We dress different at work than we do at play.  For some reason we guys want to wear one pair of glasses all the time.  It just isn’t going to get the job done.  For those of you with one suit for Weddings AND funerals, glasses are a different ballgame. Choose a “steady eddy” pair for work and another for the weekend.  Don’t be afraid to mix things up! Wear the “weekender” on Casual Friday at the office just keep everyone guessing.  Don’t be that ONE DIMENTIONAL guy.  You’re better than that.

Tip #2 – Occupation influences style

What you do for a living should influence what glasses you choose.  The wrong frame can look too casual, too conservative, or too juvenile.  Try Lindberg, ÖGA, Robert Marc or SALT if you are in finance, insurance, or technical sales. If you are a creative type look at Matsuda or Face a Face.  Engineers and teachers look great in Mykita, Bevel or SALT.  If you are over the age of 18, SAY NO to Ray-Bans RX glasses… Period.

Tip #3 – Embrace your inner child

Your hobbies, lifestyle, and personality should all play a role in the choosing a frame.  For a second frame pick something DIFFERENT. Pick a different color or a bolder style.  If you’re a weekend musician or rocker try a Dita. A weekend athlete (runner, golfer, or rugby guy) try a Tag Heuer.  For a weekend club guy, TOM FORD is your best bet.

Tip #4 – You get what you pay for

Many guys can’t see past the price.  Dudes think “Glasses look all the same”.  This couldn’t be farther from the truth.  We don’t say this about cars or tools!  Better glasses look better, feel better, and attract attention.  Plus you wear glasses 16 hours a day, seven days a week.  Glasses are a billboard for your face.  Do you really want to advertise that you are a KIA Sephia when you know at heart you are a Mercedes Benz?

Tip #5 – Glasses make the man

For those of you wear contacts 24/7 or have glasses ONLY for occasional use, you are missing out.  Did you know that many women find men to be MORE ATTRACTIVE in glasses? Incidentally, studies found men to be smarter and more trustworthy in glasses.  We know… we did the research. So you are really shortchanging yourself wearing contacts all the time.  For that special meeting, date, or occasion it may very well be your spectacles that you put you on someone else’s “it” list.  If you don’t wear them every day, make them that indispensable prop when you need that something “extra” for aesthetics or credibility.

You owe it to yourself to get a cool pair or two of spectacles.  When you decide you are in the market, be sure to drop by Eye Candy.  We have a team of opticians / style consultants who will help you choose the perfect pair.

Be cool!
